Why Southwest Florida?

One BIG difference in Florida is that Florida does not have any state income tax compared to most other states. Depending on your financial situation, this could be a HUGE saving for you.

 

It is a misconception that Florida has high real estate taxes. Florida is about the middle of the road. If you are from a Northeaster state, you will probably find Florida real estate taxes are less.

 

Another less talked about difference is the affordability of other home services such as:

·       lawn care

·       pool maintenance

·       home cleaning services

·       and more

This not only makes these services affordable, but it can make day-to-day life a lot less “work” and more “play”!

 

Floridians can get discounts! Everything from hotel rooms for a “stay-cation” to tickets to theme parks to discounts on cruises departing from Florida. Imagine, the next time you want to take a cruise, you get a discount, and you are a short drive over to the port. No flight, no tight timetable, it is fantastic!

 

From SWFL, you are within about 3 hours of:

·       Disney

·       Tampa

·       St Pete

·       Miami

·       Fort Lauderdale

·       Key West*. (*taking the boat from Fort Myers or Marco Island)

 

Our airport, RSW, has direct flights to many cities all over the US and some international flights as well. There is no need to drive to a “big city” to fly to your destination or make several connections. 

 

SWFL has some of the warmest winters in Florida. The only areas warmer would be Miami and the Keys.  That being said, did you know Fort Myers has had only ONE 100 degree day, and Naples has never had one? 

 

A lot of “Fort Myers” is not in the city of Fort Myers and therefore has lower taxes.

 

Fort Myers has the Boston Red Sox and the Minnesota Twins, spring training, and the semi-pro team, The Miracle. Night games are always a big hit and are very affordable.
